Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of child eyewitness memories and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants and has received numerous international and national prizes. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies as well as research on child victims in the legal system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division American Psychological Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
